Smile Pretty for Daddy

14" x 18" Acrylic on Canvas - February 2007

This painting was created for my mother.  It was based on an old picture of her when she was 4 years old.  It is one of her only childhood pictures.  Her mother was pregnant with her 12th child (yes, I said 12th) and they walked on a very hot summer day to get a free picture at Studio Gosselin.  She still remembers the photographer saying "Smile pretty for daddy".

Japan Tori Shrine

Beach Baby

Muskoka Chair

16" x 20" Acrylic on Canvas - March 2004

Haakon Kissing Daddy

18" x 24" Acrylic on Canvas - October 2005

This painting was created for my mother-in-law. We were going through an old photo album when we came across a picture of my husband as a child.  My husband's father had died before he was born.  His mother explained that she always kept his father's memory alive by asking him to kiss his daddy in their wedding picture.  I just had to paint this one since it was priceless!

Canoeing at Sunset

Sailing at Sunset

8" x 10" Acrylic on Canvas - December 2006

This painting was created for my doctor for Christmas.  She has been my doctor for over 20 years and has taken such excellent care of my entire family.  I didn't want to give her the traditional plant or chocolates for Christmas.  I wanted to give her something that said "I really appreciate everything you do for our family".

Aunt Pierrette's Home

16" x 20" Acrylic on Canvas - October 2009

This painting was created for my Aunt Pierrette.  She enjoyed the painting of her yard so much that she really wanted me to paint her home that she cherished so much.  Thankfully I was able to give her this painting before her passing away in February 2010 of ALS.  She was an amazing and charismatic person that I will always remember.

Aunt Pierrette's Backyard

16" x 20" Acrylic on Canvas - November 2005

This painting was created for my Aunt Pierrette.  She is a wonderful person who enjoys giving so much to others but is not very good at receiving.  She has absolutely everything she wants so I wanted to give her something she didn't already have.  I know how much she enjoys her dream home and property.  I wanted to paint the backyard view of the lake that she loves so much.
